Virginia "Gin" Singleton Crump

Virginia “Gin” Singleton-Crump was born on October 2, 1954, to the late William “Bill” Singleton Sr. and Louise Singleton.
On August 19, 1978, she married her beloved husband, Lester Crump, and they celebrated 48 years of marriage.
A former resident of Hastings, Florida, she resided in Palm Coast at the time of her passing. She was a former member of Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church of Hastings, Florida, and later became an online member.
She attended Hastings High School and graduated in 1973. She graduated from Bethune-Cookman College (University) in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. She retired after many years as a daycare teacher, where she lovingly cared for and taught young children.
Her hobbies included collecting antiques and sewing.
In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in eternal rest by her brothers, William Singleton Jr. and Johnnie Lee Williams; and her sisters, Shirley Frank, Elizabeth Kitty, and Lula Ferguson.
Virginia transitioned on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at AdventHealth in Palm Coast, Florida, surrounded by her husband and loving family.
She leaves to cherish her memories her beloved husband, Lester Crump; three bonus children, Racquel Crump of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Veronica (Jeffrey) Rhodes of Tampa, Florida, and Jamar Davis of Daytona Beach, Florida; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; like daughters, Danielle and Miranda Frank; eight sisters, Margaret Witherspoon of Miami, Florida, Mary Adkison, Flora Isom, Barbara (Clarence) Hughes, and Betty Singleton, all of Hastings, Florida, Ollie Rose Johnson of Palatka, Florida, Jacquelyn (John) Bivens of Gainesville, Florida, and Joyce (Alfonso) Lewis of Jacksonville, Florida; two brothers, Benny (Martha) Singleton Sr. of Hastings, Florida, and Robert Singleton of Palatka, Florida; sisters-in-law, Pamela Hall and Dianne Gibson; godchildren, April Pelham, Ryan Bennett, and Delilah Garvin; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members whose lives were forever touched by her love.

2:00p.m., Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, 4909 St. Johns Ave, Palatka, Florida

Interment will be held in Palatka Memorial Gardens
