Daejahnae Smith, 28, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

Her Service of Love will be held 1:00 PM, Thursday, July 9, 2026 at Bryant Chapel AMEZ Church, 506 North Main St., Cove City, North Carolina.

The interment will follow at Bryant Chapel AME Zion Church Cemetery.

Friends will be received at 765 Up Creek Rd. Cove City.

She is survived by her mother, Chandelier Smith Gatling, Cove City; one sister, Tyasia Gatling, Raleigh, NC; two brothers, Tavares Gatling Jr., Raleigh, NC and Demonte Hall, New Bern; maternal grandmother, Abigail Smith Gatlin, Cove City and paternal grandmother, Lillian Gatling, Cove City; a host of aunts and uncles.
