It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of DaLaysia Nire Brewton, who left us too soon on September 1, 2026. Born June 19, 2005, in Canton, OH, to the union of Tyreshia Pride and Anthony Brewton Sr., DaLaysia was a bright soul who brought joy and laughter to everyone around her.

DaLaysia was a proud graduate of McKinley Senior High School, Class of 2023 and spent her days working as a crew member at McDonald's, where her friendly spirit and contagious smile made a lasting impact on her coworkers and customers alike. DaLaysia had a beautiful love for butterflies. She also had a passion for the art of tattooing and enjoyed using her creativity to design tattoos for many of her family members and friends.

DaLaysia’s legacy of love will be sustained by her beloved parents and her 10-month-old son. She leaves valued memories with her siblings Anthony Brewton, Jr. and Denacio Trammel of Canton. Her memory will be cherished by her grandparents Michelle Sims-Pride of Canton, Tyrone “Michael” (Vanessa) Pride of Louisville, Moniquec Conner, and Michael “Tony” Brewton of Canton; and great-grandmothers Earley “May” Sims and Lillie Brewton of Canton.

DaLaysia also leaves precious moments with her aunts Danielle (Jon) Wright, Mikayla Pride, and Emma Pride of Canton, as well as Barbara Conner and Alfreeda Conner of Canton; and her uncle Sidney Pride of Canton. DaLaysia held a special place in the hearts of her cousins Kaleah Wright, Da’Zarion Pride, Jonell Wright, Makhia Smith, and DuRhia Bently. DaLaysia will be forever remembered by her special friends Amanda Sexton and Aaralyn Snell, along with a host of families and friends who loved her dearly.

In this time of sorrow, let us come together to remember the beautiful moments we shared with DaLaysia and the impact she had on our lives. The family invites the community to honor and celebrate DaLaysia’s life. The family will receive guests on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 11:00 am, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 pm at St. Paul AME, 1800 Tuscarawas St E., in Canton, where Pastor John McCants will serve as the officiant. DaLaysia’s spirit will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
