Carl Jones was born in Sylvester, Ga. on November 29, 1963, to the late Pearl Hubbard. Born into a family filled with love, Carl was raised by his loving mother, grandparents and extended family who dearly adored him.

Carl grew into a respectful and strong young man, no doubt carrying many of the qualities of his namesake, his beloved uncle, Tommy Carl Jones. Carl possessed a deep love and confidence in himself that was truly remarkable. He valued his peace and would not allow anyone to disturb it.

Carl began his early education at Eastlake Elementary School in East Atlanta, Georgia, while living with his grandparents. He later attended Terry Mill Elementary School, where he completed the seventh grade. Carl eventually moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where he attended and graduated from Shaw High School.

Carl continued his education by attending bartending school, where he developed his skills in mixology. His warm personality, confidence, and natural ability to connect with people made him someone who was remembered and loved by many.

Carl's memory will continue to live on through his family, who will forever cherish the love they shared with him. He leaves behind his brother Percy T. Jackson (Willena), his sister Ebony Hubbard, 4 nephews: Derrick Freeman II, Amir Hubbard, Tyrese Jackson, Yahir Martin and 4 nieces: Alexia Jackson, Ta'Kayla Freeman, Dmyla Walters, and Sanii Jackson, and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Among those who held a very special place in Carl's life was his cousin, Roderick Jackson, who carried forward the torch of love that his late father, Edward Jackson had begun with his nephew Carl at a very young age. Carl also leaves behind a special friend, Rodney Brown, who truly defined what it means to be a friend.

Carl's uncles, both those who have gone on before him and those who remain with us, Richard (Freelan), and Ed each played an important role in assisting with his upbringing. Carl also shared a special bond with two of his uncles Rev. Dr. McKenzie (Annette) and Greg, who were close to him in age. They walked shoulder to shoulder through life, creating relationships that went beyond that of uncle and nephew and became more like brotherly bond.

Everyone who knew and loved Carl understood just what a gift he was. His family remembers the special relationships he shared with his beloved aunts. Auntie Adlene (Wyman) thought of Carl as her own from the moment he was born. The love and care they shared, including those cherished moments of washing his hair—created memories that will remain forever.

Carl also shared a special bond with his Auntie Sister, whom he loved dearly and would have stayed under her loving care forever if he could have. His Auntie Vera showered him with nurturing love, while his Auntie Rose shared a special affection with him. His Auntie Angela (Terrell), though four years younger than Carl, was still respectfully called "Auntie" by him.

There is simply not enough room to fully express the kindness, love, respect, and joy Carl displayed toward the people he loved. He had a way of making those around him feel special, and the love he gave will never be forgotten.

He joined Zoe Baptist Church in 2008 and shared that he read his bible and accepted Jesus Christ in his heart as his personal savior. He engaged in many conversations with family about how he depended on God and that if it would be done, God could. He spoke of how God was taking care of him. God was indeed with him. He found his own space in this world and time is now his eternity with God. He agreed that life is a gift though for a moment. Memories of Carl will forever be celebrated and cherished by all who had the blessing of knowing and loving him.
