Steven Douglas Daniel was born on May 20, 1966, in Blytheville, Arkansas to John Daniel and Hattie Mae Redmon. Steven was a graduate of Blytheville High School class of 1985 and Arkansas Northeastern College before joining the United States Army (RA). He later made Minnesota his home, where he built a life, he was proud of and worked for the City of Minneapolis Inspection Division for 25 years. He was also the proud owner of Steven Daniel Carpet Cleaning Service. He loved white cars, cheered faithfully for the Minnesota Vikings, and expressed his creativity through art and drawing. Above all, Steve loved his family.

He was preceded in death by parents, his brothers Willie James Daniel, Al Freddie Daniel, Ivory Lee Daniel, John Moore, and Ted Daniel.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Stefanie Daniel Herron of Roanoke, Texas; his son, Marcel Cooper (Courtney) of Carbondale, Illinois; his sisters, Gloria Richardson of Mound View, Minnesota; Rhonda Banks of Little Rock, Arkansas; Vernice Redmon Carson (Willie) of Macon, Georgia; Dorothy Jean Glenn of Washington, D.C., and Ellen Jewell Scott (Joey) of Chicago, Illinois; his brothers, John Redmon III (Sylvia) of Blytheville, Arkansas; Deacon Dewayne Jones of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Gregory Daniels (Neakeyla) of Midlothian, Texas; Eddie Daniel (Vera), Louisville, Kentucky; Kentrell Rhodes (Marsha) of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and Frank Daniel (Ann) of St. John, Indiana; and his brother of love, Ronnie Oliver of Minnesota. He also leaves grandchildren, uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends who will forever carry his love in their hearts.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 5:00 until 7:00 pm in the chapel of McDonald-Horne Funeral Home, 1207 South Division Street, Blytheville.

Celebration of Life Services are scheduled for Saturday, September 26, 2026, 12:00 noon at Truelight Missionary Baptist Church, 1100 South Lilly Street, Blytheville where Dr. DL Clark is the pastor. Pastor Howard Smith of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church will deliver the eulogy, with Military Rites and interment to follow in Gethsemane Gardens.
