Janie Newsome Davis passed away on September 17, 2026, at the age of 83. She was born to the late Margaret and Lee R. Newsome. She was preceded in death by her one sister, Peggy Newsome. Janie accepted Christ in 2012, at Mt. Hope Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Vanessa White (James) and Deosha Hampton. Her grandchildren: Antoinette, James, Jr.(Erica), and Tavaris. Her great grandchildren: Tavion, David, Taqurious, Jahmiyah, Tavarius, Jr., and Lauryn. Her great-great-grandchildren: Aaliyah and Yamaria. Her nephew, Eric Newsome. A special aunt, Betty Raines (Arthur), and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026 from 3:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. at the Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home.
