Brenton Delroy Heron was born to the late Gwendolyn Lea-Hong (later Brown) and Willisford Emanuel Heron on May 16, 1962, in Carrisbrook, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. He was preceded in death by his brother, Patrick Anthony “Tony” Thompson.
Brenton is survived by his siblings: brother, Edward Charles “Bunny” Thompson, his only sister, Ena Mae “Peaches” Thompson (Donald), and brother, Willisford Saint Abin “Senty” Heron.
Brenton was a proud uncle to 17 nieces and nephews, as well as many grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces, and great-grandnephews. And if there was one thing Brenton was determined about, it was making sure they never forgot to put “Uncle” before his name. He truly loved being an uncle and took great pride in his family.
Brenton was well known throughout the community where he grew up because, to him, no one he met was ever a stranger. He greeted everyone with a title, from “my friend” to “my brother-in-law (which he adored) to my niece or nephew”. He proudly introduced himself as “Brenton Heron,” and he would carefully spell out his name to make sure everyone pronounced it correctly.
He was rarely without his notepads and multiple pens, always ready to write something down. Those who knew him will remember those little things that made Brenton uniquely Brenton—his outgoing personality, his attention to detail, his love for his family, and, perhaps most of all, his love of good food.
