A Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, September 26th at 12 noon.

Joseph B. Kerns lived a life that kept communities fed. While most people slept, he ensured groceries were stocked and available. Even as he started to transition, his spirit yearned for Shoppers. He loved his job almost as much as he loved guitars and cats. For him, life was a song that he played to a beat of his own design. In that way, he crafted a simple freedom many of us dream of.

Born to Odell and Marie Kerns on April 16, 1961, he came into this world with his twin, Josephine. They are now reunited.The Kerns Siblings include David, Danny, Henry, Harriett, and his beloved big sister Ellen. His harmonies ring on through his children - Jeneé and Joey. His melodies play through the love he and Shirley shared as she stayed by his side through every last bit of this battle with cancer. His cat, Tom, continues to meow in his memory. From Jamie, Tony, and Ebony to a host of night stock teams, Joe strums our lives with his songs for as long as our hearts beat.
