Deacon Thomas Harvey, Sr., of Marianna, Florida, transitioned from life temporal to life eternal on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Jackson Hospital in Marianna, Florida, with his family by his side.

He was a faithful member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Cypress, Florida.

Homegoing Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. from the sanctuary of Second West Baptist Association Church located at 4110 Herring Avenue in Mariann, Florida, where Rev. Dr. Dwight Cockerham, Sr., moderator and Rev. Dr. David Cobb, officiating.

Vann Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Interment will be in the Tallahassee National Cemetery in Tallahassee, Florida, at 11:00 AM EST on Monday, Oct. 5, 2026.

Deacon Harvey will lie in repose at the church from 12:00 Noon until time for the service.

A public viewing will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Vann Funeral Home in Marianna, Florida.

He leaves to cherish a lifetime of fond, yet precious memories, a loving and devoted family:

Four Sons: Thomas (Shirley) Harvey, Jr. of Dothan, Alabama; Edward (Janice) Harvey, Sr. and Marvin (Emma) Harvey of Tallahassee, Florida and Hatha D. (Raquel) Baraka

One Daughter: Sandra (Daryl) Cotton of St. Petersburg Beach, Florida

One Step-son: Vaschen Williams of Greenwood, Florida

One Sister: Lizzie Harvey of Tallahassee, Florida

And a host of sisters and brothers-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many dear friends.
