With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Corey Lee Spencer, age 38, who journeyed from this world on September 15, 2026. Affectionately known to family and friends as Tootie, Corey was born on May 12, 1988, in Youngstown, OH. She embodied a spirit as vibrant and free as the butterflies she loved so dearly.

A proud 2006 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, Corey pursued her dreams to ETI, where she earned her nursing degree, dedicating her life to caring for the residents of Park Vista Retirement Community. Her compassion knew no bounds.

Corey’s determination mirrored the strength which she found often at Ray Marrow’s A-4-A in the weight room, lifting not just weights but the spirits of those around her. We fondly remember Tootie as a steadfast friend, a selfless soul with a heart of gold, and a fervent supporter of community initiatives, from Juneteenth celebrations to back-to-school giveaways and financially sponsoring the Rayen Little Tigers. she believed in the youth of this community and displayed with her generous gifts of time, talent and treasury.

Corey leaves behind her loving mother, Vicky Spencer, father, Barry Spencer, brother Tarik Muse and sister-in-law Tahlia Muse, cherished grandmother Pearl Curry, great-grandmother France Hall, as well as uncles Sam Curry, Darren Spencer, and Eugene Spencer Jr. Each of these special individuals carries a piece of Corey.

As the saying goes, “Forever in our hearts; you may be gone from our sights but never gone from our hearts.” Never alone in life and in death, Corey was greeted in eternity by her great grandfather Arthur Hall

At the family’s request, there will be no public or formal services, as they shall remember her in their own special way. The private celebration of Corey's life reflects her reserved yet loving concern for others. Rest peacefully, dear Corey, as your legacy of love and compassion will continue to light our paths forevermore. You will be always loved, always missed and never forgotten.
