Sandy Hines
Nov 29, 1932 — Sep 28, 2026

Ms. Sandy Hines was born on November 27, 1932, in Thomson, Georgia (McDuffie County), to the late John Wesley Bolton and Lizzie Ayres Bolton. She was one of six children born to this union: Willie, Ruby, Juanita, John, and Bennie.

Sandy was raised in Atlanta, Georgia, where she attended C.W. Hill Elementary School and Davis T. Howell Middle–High School. At the age of fifteen, she moved to New York in pursuit of work and new opportunities. After forty years, she returned home to Atlanta, Georgia, where she continued to build a life rooted in faith, service, and love.

She accepted the Lord into her life at an early age and became a devoted member of Deliverance Straightway Holiness Church under the leadership of the late Reverend George Eberhart, Pastor Elder Motier Robbins and Pastor Elder Coleman (current pastor). Sandy served faithfully and diligently, contributing her time and talents to numerous auxiliaries, including the Mother Board, Choir, Usher Board, and the Kitchen Committee.

Sandy’s passions were many—she loved cooking, baking, tending to her plants, and working with the youth. One of her greatest gifts was her ability to make young people feel heard, valued, and appreciated. Her compassion reached far beyond the church walls; she lovingly cared for the elderly and embraced countless children as her own throughout her life, offering them guidance, support, and a safe place to be themselves.

Ms. Sandy Hines was an extraordinary woman, deeply loved by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her. She is preceded in death by her son, Darryl Hudson, her parentsJohn and Lizzie Bolton, and five siblings Willie, Ruby, Juanita, John and Bennie. Her cherished memories will live on through her loving goddaughter, Cynthia (Jerry) Woods; her god grandchildren, Jerry W. Woods III and Jayson Woods; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

"I will lift up my eyes unto the hills from whence

cometh my help, my help cometh from the Lord."

Psalm 121:1
