Delores Ann McCullough, affectionately known as “Lois,” was born on March 4, 1962, in High Point, NC, to the late James “Mook Jackson” Myers and Doris “Dot” McInnis. On September 29, 2026, Delores peacefully departed this life, leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and memories that will forever be cherished.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, James “Junebug” Little (Rose); her beloved aunt, Sylvia Washburn, affectionately known as “Granny”; her aunt, Julia Logan; her sisters Hazel Lowery and Helen Byers, her brothers, John “E.D.” McInnis III (Darlene), Deron Lowery, Tiger Lowery and her grandson, Keyshawn McCullough.
Delores attended T. Wingate Andrews High School and later followed her passion for cosmetology at Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC). With her talent and entrepreneurial spirit, she and her dear late friend, Pressie Lyles, opened Pressie & Dee’s Beauty Salon on Green Street in High Point.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son, John McCullough, Jr. (Crystal); her daughter, Courteney McCullough; her sisters, Lorraine McCall (Lee), Mildred Lowery and Ann Lowery; her brothers, Ray McInnis and Ja’Cal Myers (Mia); her grandchildren, Keyun, Sa’Mya, Cameron, Thomas, and Collin; her partner, Frank Solomon; her best friend, Pam Chestnut; and a host of nieces, nephews, family members, and dear friends who will forever hold her close to their hearts.
To know Lois was truly to love her.
Lois was unapologetically herself—loving, outspoken, funny, and with a personality that could never be duplicated. What you saw was what you got, and that was one of the many things people loved about her. There was never a dull moment when Lois was around. She could make you laugh, speak her mind, and somehow leave you smiling all at the same time.
Above all, Lois loved God. She was grateful for the gift of life and made it a point to thank Him for each new day. Through the good times and the difficult ones, she carried a spirit of gratitude and faith.
Rest peacefully, Lois. You fought a good fight, and now it is time to rest. We love you, we will miss you, and we will never forget you.
And in true Lois fashion, we’ll leave you with the words she loved to say:
“GOD BLESS AMERICA!”
