James Andrew Dobbins, Sr. departed this life on September 27, 2026 at St. Thomas Mid-Town in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 73. He was born February 3, 1953 in Franklin, Williamson County to the parents of Mallon and Sarah Dobbins.

James leaves to cherish his many memories, his wife, Jacqueline Dobbins; children, Darshell Lewis, James (Kinyatta) Dobbins, Jr. and Juanetta (Eric) Dobbins-Cunningham; grandchildren, Ariel James, Darshell (Jayson) Bates, James Dobbins III, Jac’Quez Dobbins, Eric Cunningham III and Darryl Frierson; great grandchildren, Amethyst Bates and, Mikel Dobbins; brother, Mallon Dobbins, Jr.; sisters, Dorothy Oden, Maggie (Sammy) Grinter, Barbara (Kent) Jones, Jackie (Jay) Preston; brothers-in-law, Ernest (Caroline) Buford, James Buford and, Franklin (Valerie) Buford; sisters-in-law, Harriet Bean, Anita McDonald and Audrey Batey; aunts, Thelma Gosey and Dora Leach; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Mr. Dobbins will lie in repose on Friday, October 9, 2026 from 12 until 5 at the funeral home.

Visitation with family Saturday, October 10, 2026 from 11 until 12 at Locust Ridge Primitive Baptist Church, 4991 Murfreesboro Road, Arrington, Tennessee 37014 with funeral to follow, Elder Doncor Archie, officiating and Elder Johnny Grimes, eulogist.

Interment Williamson Memorial Gardens, Franklin, Tennessee.
