Sammye Hardeman Ragsdale, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 29th at the age of 80, with her devoted husband, Nolin by her side.
A celebration of Sammye's life will be held on October 17th at 10AM at the First Baptist Church of Justin, 402 W 8th St, Justin Texas.
She was born on March 16th, 1946, in Ft. Worth, Tx. to Sam and Lena Mae Hardeman. She was raised on a dairy farm in Justin, Tx; where she would meet and marry the love of her life of 62 years, Nolin Ragsdale, on June 27, 1964. Throughout her life, Sammye was known for her kindness, strength, faith, and her servants heart. She had a special way of making people feel loved, welcomed, and cared for.
Sammye dedicated her life to her family, her friends and her church. She especially cherished her role as "Ninny". Her family was her greatest joy, and the thing she was most proud of. She never missed an opportunity to spend time with her kids, grandkids or great-grandkids whether that was through lunch dates, family dinners, Christmas mornings, Friday night slumber parties or any simple moment in between. She truly treasured the time spent with them.
She leaves behind a beautiful family who will forever cherish her memory. She is survived by her loving husband, Nolin; her son Russell and wife, Kelli; and son Courtney Ragsdale as well as grandchildren Jake Ragsdale and wife, Emily; Britainy Wheeler and husband, Morgan; Elli Vernon and husband, Keifer; and Hannah Ragsdale. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Hudson, Shawn, Riley, Wayde, Carter, and Auden, who brought immense love and happiness into her life.
She is also survived by her sister, Nita Judge, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother Sam and Lena Mae Hardeman and brothers Buddy and C.J. Hardeman.
Her legacy will live on through the family she loved so deeply, the lives she touched, and the memories she created throughout her years. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing that her earthly journey is complete and that she is now resting peacefully in the presence of the Lord.
