Ms. Willie Rogers was born on December 12, 1934, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She was the beloved daughter of the late Mr. Critis Rogers and Mrs. Eliza Collins Rogers. On September 29, 2026, she peacefully departed this earthly life, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, kindness, and devoted service to her family and church.
She was a graduate of Bethune High School and retired from Spartanburg Steel after 20 years of service. Her faith was an important part of her life. She was a faithful and devoted member of Travelers Rest Missionary Baptist Church where she served diligently on the Kitchen Committee, Silver Strands, and the Missionary Ministry. She also served in the community as a member of the Rainbow Lake Sympathy Club.
Willie was preceded in death by six sisters, Mrs. Alice Lyles, Mrs. Thelma Brewton, Mrs. Virginia Foster, Mrs. Helen Miller, Mrs. Jacqueline Landrum and Mrs. Mary Black, four brothers, Mr. Virgia Rogers, Mr. John Rogers, Mr. Odell Rogers and Mr. Terry Rogers, two brothers-in-law, Mr. Columbus Robinson, Jr. and Mr. Robert Landrum, one son-in-law, Mr. Melvin Leroy Wilkins.
Left to cherish her fond and loving memories are: one daughter, Ms. Vicky Wilkins, of the home, one granddaughter, Ms. Riketah Wilkins of the home and one bonus granddaughter, Ms. Ramona Hall of Spartanburg, South Carolina, two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Mays of Spartanburg, South Carolina and Mrs. Edna Robinson of Duncan, South Carolina, one brother, Mr. Charlie (Mary) Rogers of Spartanburg, South Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Though she will be deeply missed, her life will continue to speak through the many hearts she touched
Homegoing Services will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Travelers Rest Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
