Funeral service for Alice Cook, 80, of Auburn, AL, will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Zion at the Hill A.M.E. Zion Church, 3845 Lee Road 29, Opelika, AL, 36804 with interment in the church cemetery, Reverend Thomas J. Betts, Pastor, Reverend Chester Levett, Eulogist.
Mrs. Cook, who passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama, was born February 17, 1946, in Lee County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Wednesday, October 7, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Mrs. Cook will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.
She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory: one daughter, Bernice Stinson of Auburn, AL; five grandchildren, Conikki Stinson, Chrisshunda Stinson, Kendrick Stinson, Mya Stinson and Mariah Stinson all of Auburn, AL; two great grandchildren, Eli Taylor and Journee Williams both of Auburn, AL; four sisters, Annie Lois Shealey of Loachapoka, AL, Gail Wilson of Auburn, AL, Belinda Jackson of Kentucky and Hazel Jefferson of Detroit, MI; two special nephews, Bernard Holland and Tony Holland both of Auburn, AL; one special niece, Arnitra Holland of Auburn, AL; one special friend, Shirley Ingram of Fayetteville, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family of the late Mrs. Alice Jean Stinson Cook acknowledges with grateful appreciation all acts of kindness, prayers, cards, telephone calls, flowers, and words of comfort extended to us during our time of bereavement. May God bless each of you.
