In Loving Memory of Raphael “Ray” Charles Kouri
Raphael Charles Kouri, lovingly known to family and friends as “Ray,” age 77, of West Park, Florida, passed away on September 24, 2026, at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, Florida.
Ray was born on April 26, 1949, in Des Moines, Iowa, to the late Anthony and Nina (Hazer) Kouri. He carried with him throughout his life the love of family, the friendships he cherished, and a deep commitment to the people and community around him.
Ray was a longtime member of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Coral Ridge, Florida, where he faithfully served as an usher for many years. His presence at the church and his willingness to serve others were meaningful expressions of the kindness and generosity he shared with those around him.
Ray was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Matthew Kouri, who passed away on August 23, 2019; his parents, Anthony and Nina (Hazer) Kouri; and Sharon (Goeders) Kouri, the late wife of his brother Michael.
He leaves behind his beloved longtime partner of more than 20 years, Barbara Ann Flauto, with whom he shared many treasured years. He is also survived by his late brother Matthew’s wife, Kim Kouri of Council Bluffs, Iowa; his sisters, Mary Kouri of Marietta, Georgia; Theresa (Mike) Kouri-Savage of Denton, Texas; and Zita (Kevin) Lovell of Des Moines, Iowa; and his brothers, Sam Kouri of Scottsdale, Arizona; Michael Kouri of Sierra Madre, California; Anthony (Nancy) Kouri of Longmont, Colorado; Adrian (Debbie) Kouri of Des Moines, Iowa; and Joe Kouri of Des Moines, Iowa. He will also be remembered with love by his many nieces and nephews.
Ray’s life was made meaningful by the people he loved and the many lives he touched along the way. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by Barbara, his family, friends, church family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A Memorial Service celebrating Ray’s life will be held on Friday, October 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church, located at 5555 Federal Highway, Coral Ridge, Florida.
A brunch and refreshments will be served following the Memorial Service.
