Born to JW and MARY FRANCIS BURKS, on February 28, 1940, in Frankston TX. Cheetah was a lifelong steward of the land. He spent over 50 years working the same rolling acres his father cleared, waking up before dawn and measuring his life by the rhythm of the seasons, the turning of the soil, and an abiding trust in the weather and the Lord Farming teaches lessons that words alone cannot capture. It teaches patience through uncooperative weather, resilience through drought and storm, and profound faith when seeds are cast into the dark earth, trusting that life will rise again. Cheetah knew that you cannot rush a harvest, and you cannot force the rain. You do your best with what God has given you, you tend the fences, you care for the livestock, and you leave the rest in the hands of the Maker. That quiet, steadfast trust defined Cheetah's life. "May the soil receive Cheetah gently, may the memories of his harvest comfort us, and may we close the gate knowing the good and faithful servant has finally come home. Amen."
