Funeral service for Vanessa Chowdhury, 39, of Opelika, AL, will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, 1535 West Farmville Road, Auburn, AL, 36830, Reverend V. Dion Gilbert will officiate.

Mrs. Chowdhury, who passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2026 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama, was born September 5, 1987, in Chambers County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Friday, October 9, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Mrs. Chowdhury will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.

She leaves to cherish her memory: eight siblings, Keisha Oliver, April Oliver, Tiffany Oliver, Stephanie Oliver, Mario Oliver, Willie Oliver, Jr., Derrick Oliver, and James Oliver all of Opelika, AL; two uncles, Andrian Butler of Opelika, AL and Robert Oliver of Foley, AL; seven aunts, Jada (Dewayne) Vinson of Auburn, AL, Brenda Evans, Kay Oliver, Doris Oliver, Dorothy (James) Core, Stacy (Gregory) Welch all of Opelika, AL and Mary Singeton of Albany, NY; seven special nieces, Janiya Oliver, Shambrentta Oliver, Breanna Oliver, TyLexus Shorter, Talyiah Oliver, Olivia Logan and Anada Oliver; two special nephews, Darius Oliver and Jeremy Oliver; special friend, Jimmy Vickerstaff; a host of other special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family of Mrs. Vanessa Denise Oliver Chowdhury acknowledges with grateful appreciation all acts of kindness, prayers, cards, telephone calls, flowers, and words of comfort extended to us during our time of bereavement. May God bless each of you.
