Ms. Dorothy J. Lennon departed this earth on September 29, 2026. Dorothy was born on September 28, 1961 in Quitman, Georgia to Mrs. Louise M. Lennon and the late Manor Lennon. She was an amazing daughter, sister, mom, aunt, and friend. She had a smile that would light up any room, and laughter that warmed your heart.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Rosa Lee Robinson and A.J. McKinnon. Special aunts, Sarah Jane “Big Ma,” and Lucille Davis. Her dear cousin, Henry Lee Washington, and two very special friends, Cathy Ghee, and Micheal Little.

She leaves to cherish her memories to her precious and devoted mother, Louise M. Lennon. Her beautiful kids: Deonte B. Jones, Darius J. Lennon (Ashley), and Shontae L. Lennon (Nachon). Two loving brothers: Frank H. Leonard (Adriana), and Calvin B. Lennon (Melissa). Four grandkids: Harmoni A. Lennon, Ariah F. Griffin, Kayden T. Lennon, and Ahmad R. Griffin. Three special friends: Francis Bradley, Cassandra Quinn, Laverne Rivers, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find comfort knowing that mom is now resting peacefully in the arms of the Lord. Her love, strength, wisdom, and beautiful spirit will forever live on. We will cherish every memory, every lesson, and every moment we were blessed to share with her. Rest peacefully mom. Your work here is done. Until we meet again. You will forever be loved, missed, and remembered.

Funeral services for Ms. Dorothy J. McKinnon Lennon will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at 3:00 P.M. at the Greater Pleasant Temple Missionary Baptist Church (309 Cherry Street, Valdosta, Georgia 31601). Livestream will be available.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026 from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at the Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home.
