John Henry Stepney Jr, 78, of Memphis, TN passed away on October 13, 2026 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. John was born on December 27, 1947 to John and Virgie Lee Perry-Stepney in Batesville, Mississippi. He is survived by his spouse Rosanna Williams Stepney; two children, Reginald L Stepney (Marsha) and Jacqueline Stepney; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, John H Stepney Sr and Virgie Lee Perry-Stepney. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 31st, 2026 from 10:00am-10:55 am with a funeral service to follow at 11:00am both will be held at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, 394 Vance Ave, Memphis, TN 38126. Burial will take place at the Historic Elmwood Cemetery, Memphis, Tennessee.
