Hazel Elaine Fleetion, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, transitioned to God’s Kingdom on October 18, 2026. She was born on November 29, 1958, in Youngstown, Ohio, to the late William Edward Grace and Eleanor McGinnis-Grace.
Hazel was a proud graduate of The Rayen School and Choffin Career Center, graduating in May 1977. Throughout her life, she carried a spirit of strength, love, and determination that touched the hearts of those blessed to know her.
Hazel’s life was one of resilience and compassion. As a devoted staff member at Greenbrier Nursing & Rehab Center, she tenderly cared for others, embodying the essence of kindness and service. Her loving nature and infectious smile made a lasting impression on both her coworkers and the residents she served while providing a wonderful quality of life for her family.
Hazel’s faith was an important part of her journey. Hazel attended Centenary United Methodist Church, where she was actively involved in the Usher Board and youth Sunday School. She later became a member of Victory Church in Coitsville, OH, continuing to hold her faith close to her heart.
Hazel enjoyed the simple yet meaningful pleasures in life, including reading, watching movies, and spending quality time with family and friends. Her vibrant personality and fearless spirit led her to become a member of the Flying Tigers Motorcycle Club, where she was known as “Feisty Haz”.
On March 20, 2025, Hazel was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. Although this chapter of life brought challenge, her journey became a testament of strength and courage she carried within her.
Hazel leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, strength, entrusted to her beloved children, La’Tayeia Ricole Fleetion and Ricky Delvon Fleetion, both of Youngstown, OH; cherished grandchildren, Sapphire Tashaira Smith and Tristan Kavon Fleetion , along with a host of other grandchildren; loving sisters and brothers, Barbara Jean (Rudean) Stewart of Youngstown, Ohio; Carolyn Nored of Youngstown, Ohio; Richard Edward (Wilma) Grace of Kentucky; and Michael (Macilla) Grace of Youngstown, Ohio.

As Hazel triumphantly entered eternity, her faith became sight as she joins a great cloud of witnesses which include her beloved parents. We take comfort in knowing they embraced her with open arms. Though the pain of her loss is overwhelming, we find solace in the memories she left behind.
In this time of loss, let us come together to celebrate the beautiful life of Hazel cherishing the loving memories she has left behind. While not required, shades or hints of purple are encouraged to express Hazel’s awareness and ultimate healing of pancreatic cancer.
