Tequila Warese Nicole Smith was born on September 18, 1979, in Blytheville, Arkansas, to Johnny Lee Whitfield Sr. and Mary Ann Smith. She attended Blytheville School District and worked at the Hampton Inn in Blytheville. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, and spending time with family and friends.
Tequila was preceded in death by her father, Johnny Lee Whitfield, Sr. and her sister, Juanita Thompson Whitfield. She will be remembered for his kindness, strength, and love for family and friends. Tequila touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She transitioned on August 12, 2026, at the age of 46.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Ann Smith of Blytheville, Arkansas; three sons, Quinshun Nance of Pocahontas, Arkansas; LaDarrius Simmons and Javion Johnson both of Blytheville, Arkansas; two daughters Beyonce Smith and JaKailyn Johnson also of Blytheville, Arkansas; four brothers, Edward (Kim) Smith, Michael Smith, Johnny Whitfield all of Blytheville, Arkansas and Clifton Smith of Pontiac, Michigan; four sisters, Rosla ( Jimmy) Howard of Blytheville, Arkansas, Barbara Smith also of Blytheville, Arkansas; Sherelle Benjamin-Whitfield of Detroit, Michigan; and Shamika Anderson also of Blytheville, Arkansas; one grandchild, Qua’Shundre Nance, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Word of Truth Global Ministries, 415 Tennessee Street, Blytheville, Arkansas, where Bishop Sunny Osagie serves as pastor. Pastor Jimmy Howard will offer words of encouragement. This gathering will honor and celebrate a life deeply cherished and loved.
