It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Charles Allen Babb Jr. on August 11, 2026. Born on March 17, 1962, in Benton Harbor, Michigan.
Charles was a cherished son, brother, partner, father, and friend. He left this world as he lived it, with grace and serenity, after a courageous battle with heart problems.
Charles was the beloved son of the late Charles and Mae Babb and brother to the late Mark Babb. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his partner, Mary Roberts, and his three devoted daughters, Amanda, Nicole, and Brittany. He is also survived by his sisters, Mae Rauls (Michael) and Sharlene Nicholson (Ralph), and a host of nephews, nieces, and grandchildren who will forever cherish his memory.
From a young age, Charles dedicated himself to the service of his country. He proudly served as a third-generation military service member in the US Army from 1979 until 1982, a tenure cut short due to injury. His commitment to his nation was unwavering, and he carried that same dedication into his civilian life as a respected dive instructor.
Charles' passion for the water was matched only by his love for fishing and his cherished Harley Davidson, which brought him immense joy and freedom. Despite the health challenges he faced, Charles was known for his happy demeanor and the warmth he brought into the lives of those around him. He lived a life filled with adventure and sunshine, and his infectious smile will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
The family invites friends and loved ones to join in honoring the remarkable life of a man who touched so many hearts.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Pruitt Care facility in North Augusta for their unwavering service to our veteran and to Kinsey and Walton for their thoughtful assistance during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Charles' memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting his generous spirit and love for helping others. May Charles Allen Babb Jr. rest in eternal peace, forever remembered, and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
