Sarah Elizabeth Waters Sims departed this life on August 21, 2026 at Tri-Star Summit Medical Center in Hermitage, Tennessee at the age of 76. She was born October 3, 1949 in Williamson County, Tennessee to the parents of Mays and Rebecca Waters.

Sarah leaves to cherish her memories, her loving and devoted son, Joshua Sims; her sisters, Nora Waters, Mattie (Douglas) Hendricks, Roberta Waters and Juanita Waters; devoted brothers, Mayes (Grace) Waters, Jr. and David (Lavonia) Waters; brothers-In-Law, Larry ( Lynette) Sims and Samuel (Bernice) Sims, Jr.; nephews, James Hunt III, Melvin Waters, Calvin Hendricks and Douglas Hendricks Jr. nieces, Sonja Hunt and Stephanie Waters; A host of great, great-great nephews and nieces, cousins and many friends, the Brentwood Community Family, and The Brooks Memorial United Methodist Church Family; devoted friends, The Golden Girls, Department of Human Services, Board of Probation and Parole Friends, and the Class of ’67 Classmates.

Mrs. Sims will lie in repose on Friday, August 28, 2026 at Brooks Memorial United Methodist Church, 3303 Brick Church Pike, Nashville, TN 37207 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m..

Visitation with family Saturday, August 29, 2026 from 12 until 1 at Brooks Memorial United Methodist Church, 3303 Brick Church Pike, Nashville, TN 37207 with funeral to follow.

Interment Greenwood Cemetery North, Goodlettsville, TN 37072.
