It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sharlene Diane Moyer, who left us peacefully on August 22, 2026, at the age of 68. Born on October 7, 1957, in Farrell, PA, to the union of Franklin H. Moyer and Lois C. (Cherry) Moyer, Sharlene spent her life dedicated to caring for others, working as a caregiver and personal care attendant in long-term care at Happy Days. She was a pillar of strength and love for her family and anyone fortunate enough to cross her path.
Sharlene was a proud mother to Melvin L. Locke Jr., Damien Hancock, Nakkia Locke, La'Toya (Stewart) Locke-Handy, Roderick Norris, and Tanisha Norris. She is survived by her brother Kenneth Edward Moyer Sr., her beloved sisters Marcia Austin, Janice Williams, and Gayle Moyer, as well as ten amazing grandchildren whom she adored. Sharlene leaves behind a legacy filled with love, laughter, and an unbreakable bond with a host of families and friends.
Sharlene had a vibrant spirit; she found joy in her grandchildren, music, and crossword puzzles. Whether it was blaring old school jazz and R&B through her headphones or playing games on her phone, the favorite game, Candy Crush, she always knew how to enjoy life. She also cherished her time at bingo, where each game was another opportunity for connection and fun. It was no surprise that she was a regular customer on the Amazon delivery route as she enjoyed the online shopping experiences and the joy it provided.
As Sharlene entered eternity, she was reunited with her parents, sister-in-love Stacey Moyer and nephew Kenneth E. Moyer Jr. She will be missed dearly, but her laughter, love, and the rhythm of her music will continue to live on in our hearts.
There will be no formal services at this time, and the family appreciates the love, support and prayers extended towards them. However, for a caring farewell, at this time of intimate need and personal loss, the family of Sharlene Diane Moyer elected to entrust the Ministry of Comfort & Care, along with Transitional After-Care Arrangements to the J. E. Washington Funeral Services, 1059 Hamilton Ave, Farrell, PA 724.983.1523
