Percy "Sky" Walker Jr., age 47, went home to be with the Lord on August 13, 2026. Percy was born on August 25, 1978, in Canton, Ohio, to Percy Walker Sr. and Linda Davidson. He was the eldest of his siblings: Travis Walker, Danauta Roden, Craig Walker, Frank Sutton, and Corey Walker. As the oldest, Percy held a special place within his family and shared a unique bond with each of his siblings.

Percy received his education in Canton, attending Allen Elementary School, Hartford Middle School, and Timken Senior High School. He later received his GED. Following that, Percy continued his education at the University of Akron.

Faith was an important part of Percy's life from an early age. He was raised in Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, where the foundation of his relationship with God was established. Throughout his life, Percy developed a deep knowledge and love of the Bible. His faith remained strong, and he was known for sharing Scripture and challenging those around him to grow in their own understanding and faith.

Percy enjoyed playing chess and, in many ways, functioned like the art of the game, he always was thinking ahead for his next move. He shared his love for chess teaching the next generation.

Yet, Percy also had a deep love for old-school music and was truly an '80s and '90s kind of guy. The music of those decades held a special place in his heart and reflected his personality, style, and the memories he cherished throughout his life.

Percy was creative, fearless and inventive, using these talents, He loved sharing words of affirmation and built a gaming application, Percy was hilarious always had everyone laughing. Percy had an unforgettable laugh-one that could light up a room and bring joy to everyone around him. His laughter was contagious, full of life, and unmistakably his, a sound that will forever be remembered and deeply missed.

Percy enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, especially music, gaming, skating, fishing, chess and bowling. He found serenity developing his culinary skills; Above all, he cherished spending time with his family, creating memories and sharing moments that will forever be held close to their hearts. Percy also loved researching cars.

Most importantly, Percy cherished spending quality time with his immediate family. He also looked forward to attending the Pro Football Hall of Fame Parade every year, a tradition he thoroughly enjoyed. As a proud Cleveland Browns fan, his love for football was another special part of his being.

Percy was a kindhearted man with a mountain of faith. His love for God and knowledge of the Bible was deeply rooted in who he was. He knew Scripture and often challenged those around him with biblical wisdom, encouraging others to think deeper, grow stronger in their faith, and draw closer to God.

Over the years, Percy became deeply committed to living a healthier and more intentional life. He valued exercise, embraced a vegan lifestyle, and especially enjoyed bike riding. His dedication to his health reflected his discipline, determination, and desire to become the best version of himself.

Percy was a dedicated and hardworking man who recently reached an important milestone in his career-celebrating 10 years of service with Whirlpool. He proudly received his 10-year anniversary certificate, meaningful recognition of his commitment, loyalty, and years of dedication. This is an indicator that Percy's impact extended beyond his family and friends to those he worked alongside.

His Whirlpool family asked to know the time of his funeral so that the entire plant could pause for a moment of silence in his honor. This thoughtful gesture speaks volumes about the respect Percy earned during his 10 years of service and the lasting impression he made on those around him.

As Percy’s faith became sight, he was reunited with his grandparents Marie & Lovell Davidson and Hilyard and Opal Walker; great-grandparents Mary and West Taylor, along with his aunts and uncles.

Percy’s memory will be cherished by his parents, siblings and a large host of family and friends. The community will gather at Mount Calvary Second Missionary Baptist Church, 1000 Third St. NE, Canton, to celebrate Percy’s life. The family will receive guests at 11:00 AM on August 28, 2026, followed by a noon day memorial service where Elder Allie Walker will deliver healing and comforting words of hope.
