Mr. Fessor Ree Lewis, Jr.

Fessor Ree Lewis, Jr. was born on March 8, 1949, in Barfield, Arkansas, to Fessor Ree Lewis, Sr. and Lula Lawson Lewis. A 1967 graduate of Armorel High School, he also attended Southern Baptist College and Cotton Boll Vo-Tech. A faithful member of New St. Paul Baptist Church, he served as a deacon, trustee, Sunday school teacher, Boys Youth Director, and past president of the Singing Union for the General Baptist District. A United States Navy veteran, Fessor served his country honorably and retired from American Greetings after more than 40 years of dedicated service. He was an avid photographer and videographer who enjoyed traveling and spending time with family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fessor Ree Lewis, Sr. and Lula Lawson Lewis; two brothers, Gleen Lewis and Sammy Lewis; and two sisters, Mary Ree Lewis and Mary Lewis-Ward. Fessor transitioned on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at his home at the age of 77.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife, Jerlean Lewis of the home; his son, Corey Lewis of Atlanta, Georgia; two brothers, Charlie Lewis of Blytheville, Arkansas, and Carey Lewis of Hot Springs, Arkansas; six sisters, Charlene (Cozean) Hedrick of Blytheville, Arkansas, Flossie Beasley of Gary, Indiana, Cordelia (William) White of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Linda (Charles) Mathis of Anchorage, Alaska, Beverly (Ray) Knox of Columbia, South Carolina, and Shirley Taylor of Forrest City, Arkansas; his New St. Paul Baptist Church family; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held Sunday, September 6, 2026, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. at New St. Paul Baptist Church, 515 East Sawyer Street, Blytheville, Arkansas, where Reverend Clark Phillips serves as pastor.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, September 6, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at New St. Paul Baptist Church. Pastor Clark Phillips will deliver the eulogy, with interment to follow at Gethsemane Gardens Cemetery.
