With hearts surrendered to God’s perfect will, we announce that Mrs. Callie Rosier Gavin has graciously accepted Heaven’s invitation and entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. Having completed her earthly journey, she now rejoices in the everlasting presence of the Lord, where pain is no more and peace is everlasting.

Funeral services will be 11 AM, Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Thomasville Road Baptist Church, 3131 Thomasville Road, Tallahassee, FL, with burial Southside Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, September 4, 2026, 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Restoration Church of Christ, 2619 S. Meridian Street, Tallahassee, FL

Sister Callie Rosier Gavin, a beloved wife, mother, sister, First Lady, mentor, and friend, entered eternal rest on August 26, 2026. She was born on May 13, 1940, in Sopchoppy, Florida, and lived a remarkable life characterized by faith, love, service, compassion, and an unwavering devotion to God and her family.

Sister Gavin was the fifth of nine children born to the late John R. Rosier and Charlotte Harris Rosier. She graduated from Shadesville High School and, following graduation, attended Lincoln Technical School, where she earned her certification in cosmetology.

Sister Gavin’s life was deeply rooted in prayer and service. In 1992, she became the founding President of the Lydia Intercessory Prayer Warriors, a position she faithfully held until her passing. For more than three decades, she carried the needs of families, women, churches, and communities before the throne of God. Through her leadership, prayers, encouragement, and steadfast faith, she touched countless lives and became a source of strength and spiritual support to many.

Sister Gavin faithfully served alongside her husband, Bishop Wender R. Gavin, as his wife and partner in ministry from 1976 until 2026. For 50 years, she stood beside him through seasons of service, growth, transition, and ministry.

Sister Gavin will be remembered for her loving spirit, wisdom, strength, compassion, and commitment to others. She leaves behind a legacy of faith and service that will continue through the generations she influenced and the lives she touched.

Sister Gavin leaves to cherish her precious memories her devoted husband of 65 years, Bishop Wender R. Gavin; her daughters, Wanda Bailey of Tallahassee, Florida; Wendy Beard (Timothy) of Tallahassee, Florida; and Winifred Boulware (Reginald) of Huntersville, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Gavin Boulware (Corinna) of Huntersville, North Carolina; Apryl Plowden (Brandon) of Jacksonville, Florida; Brittany Boulware of Huntersville, North Carolina; Briana Belle (Jeffrey) of Brandon, Florida; and Sierra Beard of Wesley Chapel, Florida; five great-grandchildren, Haiden Boulware, Roman Boulware, Nicole Plowden, Joy Belle, and Royce Boulware; two godsons, Warren Paschal and Ela Rosier; her sisters, Mother Ethel (Willie) Skipper of Sopchoppy, Florida, and Pastor Ruth Easter of Seattle, Washington; her goddaughter, Marion Paschal; her special daughter, Tameka Richardson; the beloved members of Restoration Church of Christ; and a host of relatives and friends.
