Columbus, OH- We joyfully celebrate the life and triumphant homecoming of Rose M. LeFlore of Columbus, OH, who entered into eternal rest on August 29, 2026, following a brief illness. While our hearts are heavy, we rejoice knowing she is peacefully in the arms of her Savior.

Rose’s journey began on July 15, 1952, in Youngstown, OH, born to the late Bertha Mae and George LeFlore Sr. A proud graduate of Campbell Memorial High School, Rose possessed a lifelong passion for learning. She went on to attend Youngstown State University, earning an associate degree in Dietetic Technology and a bachelor’s degree in English literature. An avid and insatiable reader, she amassed a beautiful library of works by notable literary scholars. She held a deep, special affinity for Black literature, which served as the creative spark for her own curated writings.

Throughout her earthly journey, Rose maintained an unwavering, deeply committed relationship with God. For a time, she shared her faith as the host of the Christian radio program “Five-Minute Cup,” evangelizing uplifting, spirited, and inspirational stories of triumph.

Her lifelong Christian journey led her to fellowship with several congregations, including Church of Hope, Christian Tabernacle, United Methodist, World Fellowship, New Bethel Baptist, Temple of Faith of Cross Lanes, WV, Early Morning, and Union Baptist Church.

Rose dedicated herself to service and ministry, actively participating in choir, missionary work, community outreach, and the kitchen ministry. Guided by a profound compassion for the elderly and disenfranchised, she regularly gave her time and resources to ensure the community's most vulnerable felt seen, loved, and cared for.

Throughout her career Rose held several positions; but her most rewarding job was that of a Dietician. She relished in assisting individuals who needed guidance in meal planning while offering suggestions on creating healthy lifestyle habits. She was a great cook and would often use food to bring her loved ones and friends together within her community.

Rose leaves to forever cherish her memory and sustain her legacy her four sons: Robert LeFlore, Terraine LeFlore of Columbus, OH, Titus LeFlore of Dallas, TX, OH and Timothy LeFlore of Cleveland; grandsons: Terrell LeFlore of Houston, TX, Tristan LeFlore of Columbus, OH and great granddaughter Tou´re of Houston, TX.

Rose is also survived by siblings: Florene Crook and Lowrine Rhodes of Youngstown, Ada LeFlore of Mansfield, and Jessie LeFlore; nieces; Bertha, Vonnie, Sabrina, Tracy, Shaqualia, Lisa, Alva, Marva, and Denisha; nephews: Emmanes, Edward, Charles, Brian, Mike, Raymond, Darius, Steve, Jessie, James; and a cadre of loving, lifelong friends.

Rose was reunited in eternity with her parents; daughter, Candy LeFlore; grandson, Terrez Spann; siblings: Clemale, Elizabeth, Charles, George, and Emmer Ann; nephews: Pernall and George Henry III; and nieces: Stephanie and Ava. Though absent from the body, Rose is forever present in spirit. Her bright light, generous heart, and legacy will continue to live on through the countless lives she touched.

In honor of Rose’s remarkable life, a 9:00 AM public viewing will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the Jaylex Event Center, 2110 Glenwood Ave, immediately followed by a home going service at 10:00 AM, with Pastor Derrick H. Anderson officiating. After a committal ceremony, Rose will be laid to rest upon the serene estates of the Tod Homestead Cemetery, 2200 Belmont Ave, Youngstown, OH.
