Ms. Shelia Annette Brown departed this life peacefully on September 12, 2026, at High Point Hospice Home. Shelia was preceded in death by her father, Samuel Simpson of High Point, and her sister, Cassandra D. Brown of High Point.

Shelia was a proud graduate of High Point Central High School, Class of 1985. She continued her education at North Carolina State University, earned a certificate from Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC), and graduated from High Point University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science degree. She later earned her Master’s degree in Accounting from Gardner-Webb University.

She loved her family, her church, and her career. She faithfully served at Stanton Place Church of God of Prophecy as Church Clerk, Sunday School Secretary, and a member of the Pastor’s Aid Committee. She was employed with Bank of America for more 20+ years, where she dedicated herself to her work and those she served.

One of Shelia’s greatest acts of love was the care she provided for her mother, Mother Johnnie H. Brown. Shelia was her mother’s main caretaker, and the two were rarely seen apart. Their bond was a beautiful testimony of love, devotion, and family.

She leaves to cherish the precious memories of her life, love, service, and kindness: her beloved mother, mother, Johnnie H. Brown; four sisters, Teresa C. Deese of Charlotte, NC; Pastor Sylvia B. Staten of Rock Hill, SC; Beatrice Brown of High Point, NC; and Fonda E. James (Jeffery) of Winston Salem, NC; along with a host of nieces and nephews; her nieces and nephews were especially dear to her heart—“our children were her children”—including Chasity, Kiara, Maia, Adrienne, Tim, Isaac, Elijah, Zevlin, Antley, Abram, Abraham, Brian, Victor, and Tyrique; She also leaves to cherish her memory many cousins, Patricia Faulk, and a multitude of loving friends, church family, coworkers, and others whose lives were touched by her kindness.

Shelia will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her commitment to her faith and church, her dedication to her career, and the countless acts of service and kindness she so freely gave to others.

Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Shelia’s life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her love a gift that will never be forgotten.

Funeral service will be held, Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at Church of God of Prophecy, 1010 Stanton Place. Interment will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
