Channie Allen Cole

"I have very fond memories of family visits with Aunt Channie and Uncle Cecil at my grandmother's home in Auburn Alabama during my childhood. (My grandmother, Annie B. Cole-Vinson, was Uncle Cecil's eldest sister).

Even at a young age, I was drawn to Aunt Channie's kindness, sophistication, integrity, quiet strength, and timeless beauty. After Uncle Cecil's untimely passing, she and I continued to keep in touch, and when I moved to Atlanta in the early 1980s, she was very supportive of my educational, occupational, musical, and philanthropic efforts.

She and I spoke often and enjoyed occasional visits when I lived in the Atlanta area. She would often tell me how much I reminded her of Uncle Cecil.

I was inspired by the wisdom and advice she shared through our many conversations, and I am forever grateful for her support during the highlights of my career, as well as her encouragement during my health challenges.

She will always have a special place in my heart.
