Hearing of your passing, took the wind out of me. I was shocked and felt instant hurt. I had carried your memory in my heart as a light to my path for over 26 years. You had visited my church in Palmerston North New Zealand in the 90's I was around 14 years old. My parents and I were in the crowd in absolute awe of gift God had given you. You performed the songs from your album 'Psalms alive' I was an instant fan. I went to watch you again later that week at a marae (Māori meeting house) in Levin. I watched captivated by your soulful tone. At the end of the meeting you pointed me out from the crowd, you had a word for me - You saw me singing for the nations, for the world. I had no idea what it meant at the time. I am now 39 soon to be 40 years old. I am teacher of Kapa Haka - The cultural art of Dance and song of my people, The Māori people. I have performed around the world, I have tutored national winning teams and have included the praises of our Lord God in the performances. I never forgot what you told me. I am forever grateful for your life, it has impacted me more that anyone could possibly know. Moe mai rā e te rangatira - Rest now great leader. I recall Donn Thomas' albums, "Live Wires" and "You're The One". The "Live Wires" cover had me laughing at first--all those sparks (LoL)! But it has actually become one of my all-time favorite album covers! Whenever I hear "A Shield About Me" and "Anointing Fall On Me", it will remind me that God inspired Minister Donn to compose them; many have been blessed by those songs. We will see and hear him again at the Glorious Appearing of Jesus Christ! (Titus 2:13)

LaVoughn and Micah. I rejoice with you that brother Donn is now resting in the bosom of our Lord and also grieve with you over his loss to us. I will miss his resonant voice, singing and laughter. Please know you will both continue in my prayers. Sandy (and Jojo)
