Monika Alicia Robinson (1970-2021) entered this world in Blakely, Georgia, the youngest of four children born to the late Earle and Naomi Robinson. She was a miracle baby, born premature and weighing only two and one-half pounds. But she fought hard to live, and she lived a beautiful life as the baby girl of her family. Monika took her first road trip when she was about a month old to Stanford, California, with her family, traveling in a shoebox. She was a very happy baby whose laughter and giggles brought much joy to her parents and siblings.
She began her education in the kindergarten program at the Berean Seventh-day Adventist Church in Atlanta. She continued her education at Berean Jr. Academy in Atlanta, GA, and at a school by the same name in Charlotte, NC. Then she received her high school diploma from Greater Atlanta Adventist Academy. She made lifelong friends throughout her early educational years. She also worked as a customer service representative at Comcast for many years. While working full-time, she earned a bachelor's degree in Human Resources from Mercer University, which was awarded to her last summer.
Monika was formerly married to Sambou Wade with whom she had two sons, Elijah and Solomon. The boys were the loves of her life, and she was an exceptionally devoted and caring mother. She also enjoyed traveling and visiting with friends and family.
Most importantly, Monika renewed her commitment to God as a Seventh-day Adventist Christian and developed a strong and inspiring faith. When she recently became very ill, she told her siblings via text message, “Though He slay me, I will trust Him.” Monika was a much beloved daughter, sister, mother, wife, auntie, friend, and co-worker who will be missed immensely.
Monika leaves to cherish her memory her two boys, Elijah and Solomon; her siblings and their spouses Donald and Sherlene Robinson, Rhondda Robinson and William Thomas Jr., and Carlton and Ingrid Robinson; one niece and two nephews; her ex-husband, Sambou Wade; her step-mother Kaaren A. Robinson and her children Kelly Anderson and Andy Anderson; and a host of other family members and friends.
A memorial service for Monika Robinson will be held on a future date.
