A Celebration of Life Joyce Ann Farmer- Prince
Joyce Ann Farmer-Prince was granted her angel wings on October 17, 2020 after an everlasting battle of an illness. She surpassed the timelines of the doctors to have a long filled life of laughter and happiness which included traveling the world with family and friends. Joyce was born on March 30, 1947 in Atlanta, GA. She was the daughter of the late Grady and Stella Farmer. She stood all of 5 feet tall and had a quiet walk that made a strong and lasting impact on her family and friends. Joyce graduated from Harper High School and attended Clark Atlanta University . Joyce married John Paul Prince , Jr. on June 19, 1966 at St. John Missionary Baptist church in Atlanta, GA. where she was a member for most of her childhood and adult life and once widowed she became a member of Floyd Chapel Baptist Church in Stockbridge, GA where she was a member of the Mission Board. During her 26 year marriage to John they had four children : John (Vanessa), Jewanda ( Charles), Jeffrey and Jexandria ( Geronimo) . As a stay at home wife and mother for most of her adult life, Joyce enjoyed taking care of her family right down to the uniqueness of making sure that her children all carried the same surname initials- JP as she and her husband, John. Joyce made sure s that on every trip in the Winnebago each summer that she had her 8-tracks of great R& B music for the family to sing along with. Joyce made sure that every birthday party for her young children was filled with fun and a homemade birthday cake. Joyce loved sharing long standing traditions of recipes and holiday goodness with her five grandchildren: Alston( Cierra), Johnathan , Victoria, David , Deondra and her two great grandchildren : Aden and Ava. Joyce was an avid reader. She was a member of several book clubs whereas she had her own private library of several genres that she loved to read in her home. She passed on this quiet heartfelt passion to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who all love to read as well. After building her dream home with John, Joyce went to work and retired as a federal employee from the Internal Revenue Service after 25 years of employment .
