SHIRLEY C HOOD

Shirley's poise was phenomenal. I always loved her gratefulness as she was such a lady. My daughter Cayla and I would visit her often; not only that, she was family. My last visit with her was full of laughter and I'm at peace with that. To Theresa [My Sister-In-Law], I love you and am always a phone call away if you and the family needs me. I grew up attending Jackson Memorial Baptist Church and always thought of Ms. Hood as the "nice lady from church." One of my fondest memories was when she traveled to Dallas during the 1990s and I had a chance to have lunch with her at work! I will always cherish that memory. My prayers are with her children and grandchildren as they adjust to a new normal.

SHIRLEY, I WAS IN DISBELIEF OF YOUR HOMEGOING BUT I KNOW GOD MAKES NO MISTAKES, AND HE SAID HE WAS COMING LIKE A THIEF IN THE NIGHT FOR US TO BE PREPARED.I KNOW FOR THE LAST FUNERALS THAT I ATTENDED AT JACKSON MEMORIAL YOU WERE NOT THERE AND AT YOUR ASSIGNED POST. HOWEVER, I MISSED YOU.YOUR PRESENCE WILL BE MISSED AROUND THERE. REST WELL OLD FRIEND. I WILL SEE YOU INTHE MORNING.
