The world lost a little of its sparkle on Friday, August 29, 2025, with the transitioning of Georgia Smart Cohen, at her home in Allendale, SC, at the age of 75. She touched the lives of so many with her kindness, trust, and warm disposition, and her spirit, love, and laughter will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew her.
Visitation will be held at the Allendale Community Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Also, please join the family at a remembrance ceremony in honor of Georgia's beautiful life at her funeral services on Thursday, September 4, 2025, 11:00 am at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Ulmer, SC. The Reverend Wilbur L. Hines, Senior Pastor, Happy Home Baptist Church will serve as Euloglist. Following the service, Georgia will be entombed at Hoover Cemetery.
The event will be livestreamed via FaceBook Live. To access the event, FaceBook account users are invited to search the site for Happy Home Baptist Church to join the ceremony.

As a child growing up in Allendale and Happy Home Baptist Church, I had the pleasure of being mentored by Georgia. She was someone that all the children gravitated to because she was so gentle, kind, and loving. She was just good people. She has earned her crown. May she rest in eternal peace.

Georgia and I grew up on Mill Street, we walked too school together along with Dorothy Saxon and Mary Alice Johnson. We graduated from C.V.Bing High School in 1968. We went to Voorhees University and remained friends after graduation. My deepest condolences to Oliver and the family, Heaven has a beautiful angel, RIP my classmate and friend.
Mrs. Georgia Cohen was truly a lady. Such poise and grace. She was a fixture in the Mt. Calvary church. She was one of the best ushers!! May her family find peace in her passing.
