Mr. Charlie Lawson, 80 of Milwaukee WI formally of Dooly County departed this life Friday, March 8, 2024. Celebration of Life service will be held, Friday March 22, 2024 at 4:00 pm at the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Interment Church Cemetery.
Charlie was born on October 23, 1943, to the union of Miller Lawson and Mary Frances Lawson in Dooly County, Georgia. Charlie received his education at Unadilla High School in Unadilla, Georgia. Charlie was employed at Motor Castings for 38 years as a lead molder. In his leisure time, Charlie enjoyed spending quality time with his family, watching Western movies, and cooking big Sunday breakfasts. Charlie was very supportive, loving, and big hearted. Charlies core values were family and loyalty. Charlie was preceded in death by his mother Mary Frances Lawson, father Miller Lawson, four brothers Willie B., Aurthur, Willie James, and Miller Jr. Lawson, sister Dora Cannie, daughter Marsha Lawson and granddaughter Lashelle Tatum. Charlie Lawson leaves to mourn a devoted wife of 56 years Edna Lawson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. One son Charlie Lawson Jr. Two daughters Marchelle (Dan) Hutchins, and Francine Lawson of Milwaukee, WI. Six sisters; Odessa Sheffield, Susie Henry, Viola Adams, Mae Dorothy (Doctor Franklin Sr.), Jordan, all of Unadilla, Georgia, Mary Helen Bizzell of Linden, New Jersey and Virgie Tally of Macon, Georgia. Charlie also leaves to mourn 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
