Obituary For Mr. Cortez Williamson

Born on October 25, 1994, Cortez was a diligent, hardworking man whose quiet strength, kind heart, and love for his family left a lasting impression. He carried himself with humility, worked tirelessly, and was always willing to help others. Whether on the football field, at work, or with family, Cortez exemplified dedication and integrity. His legacy of love and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

Cortez was a 2013 graduate of Macon County High School, where he distinguished himself academically and athletically. His passion for football led him to Reedley College in California in 2015, where he proudly wore jersey #72. He later graduated from South Georgia Technical College, building a foundation for his future and his family.

Known for his exceptional work ethic, Cortez worked at FPL Warehouse in 2020 before continuing his career with McLane Warehouse, Tyson Foods, and Perdue Farms through 2026. Most recently, he was employed by Jack Linkโ€™s Corporation, demonstrating the reliability and determination that defined his life.

Cortez was preceded in death by his mother, Fontella Felton Williams; grandfathers, Eugene Williamson and Jamie Lee Felton; and grandmother, Mattie Redding.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his children, Kayden Williamson, Jayden Williamson, and Jaโ€™Kayden Davis; and a cherished friend, Diamond Davidson.

He is also survived by his father, Kerry Williamson, Sr. (Sonja); siblings, Kerry Williamson, Jr. (Kimberly), Christopher Williamson (India), Kerridias Chambliss, Kerin Williamson, Ronrica Gordon (Kena), Dawn Chambliss, and Jessica Chambliss; and Emily Deed, who shared a special bond with him growing up. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Ruby Mae Williamson.

He is remembered by his aunts and uncles, Anthony Redding (Sheila), Monica Redding, Alexander Redding, Tonzia Ford (Marcus), Pamela Hooten, Dwayne Hooten, Thomas Felton, John Redding (Bertha), Paulette Thompson (Tony), Marvin Brown (Rose Marie), Lorraine Duncan, Dexter Williamson, Sr., Rosalyn Williamson, Grace Grier, Lois Carter, and Henry Carter. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, teammates, classmates, and coworkers.

Cortezโ€™s legacy will live on through his children, his family, and the countless lives he touched.
