MR. ROY KINGDOM, SR., age 90, departed this life on Saturday, July 4, 2026.
Born on August 8, 1935, in Crisp County, Georgia, Roy spent much of his life in Cordele where he built a life centered on hard work and family. He began his career as a farmer before spending many years working in the furniture industry.
Outside of work, Roy found his greatest enjoyment on the water. An avid fisherman, he was known by those closest to him as someone who understood the rhythms of fishing better than most. When the urge to fish struck, he would often take a day away from work and head to his favorite fishing spot. He knew the waters well, understood the habits of the fish, and took quiet pride in mastering his craft. Whether fishing for snapper or another catch, Roy trusted his knowledge, his patience, and the water.
He also loved listening to music and working on cars, but fishing remained the hobby that brought him the greatest joy.
Roy was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn (Evy) Reynolds; father, Grant (Seymour) Kingdom; adoptive mother, Sally Kingdom; sisters, Dorothy Jean Simmons and Mattie Bryant; and brother, Charlie Kingdom.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of 68 years, Christine Kingdom of Unadilla, GA; sisters, Mary Kingdom of West Palm Beach, FL, and Beulah Anderson of Vienna, GA; seven children, Roy Kingdom, Jr., (Sandy) of Summerville, SC, Lorrye Ann Borden (Melvin Sr.) of Vienna, GA, Roger Kingdom (Mary) of Orlando, FL, Carolyn Hubbard (Thomas) of Orlando, FL, Robert Kingdom of Vienna, GA, Ronald Kingdom (Sucilia) of Vienna, GA, and Christopher Kingdom (Stephanie) of Augusta, GA; and he also leaves behind more than 20 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, extended family members, and friends who will cherish his memory.
The Kingdom family gratefully acknowledges the many prayers, expressions of love, and acts of kindness extended during this time of bereavement.

Roy was a good friend. We worked together at Pass Furniture for years. He taught me a lot about repairing furniture and assembling new furniture. We had a lot of good times during the time we worked at Pass Furniture. I don't think there was anything that he couldn't fix.Rest in peace my friend.
