Funeral Services for Mrs. Martha Jean Buckles Jones 68 ,of Unadilla GA will be Saturday January 21, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Evergreen Baptist Church Pinehurst GA. Interment Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery Unadilla, GA.

Public Visitation will be held Friday January 20 , 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Sister Martha Jean Buckles-Jones was born on March 23, 1954, to the late Mrs. Amanda Hightower-Buckles and the late George Buckles, Jr. At an early age, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and became a member of Evergreen Baptist Church of Pinehurst, GA. Later she became a member of the senior choir. She graduated from the Dooly County public school system. She was a trained and licensed home health care professional. She was formerly employed at Neff Manufacturing Company until her early retirement. Martha Jean had only one child, the beautiful Juanita Buckles. She had four stepchildren, Pamela Jones-Owens, Hernandez Allen Jones, Vernon Jones, Sr., and Lynell Herron-Owens. Martha Jean was married to Allen “AJ” Jones, Sr., for many years. After the divorce they remained very close friends. On Wednesday, January 11, 2023, her life came to a peaceful end while a patient at Crisp Regional Hospital. She was preceded in death by her mother, Amanda Hightower-Buckles; father, George Buckles, Jr.; sister, Patricia Ann Buckles-Daniels and brother George Donzell Buckles. She leaves to cherish her memories that will live on forever: loving daughter, Ms. Juanita Buckles of Athens, GA; two loving and caring sisters, Ms. Charlie Jewell Clinton of Atlanta, GA, and Mrs. Anna M. Hall (Larry) of OH; loving brother, Mr. Tracy Buckles of Unadilla, GA; devoted aunts, Ms. Odell Hightower of West Virginia, Ms. Mary Buckles, Mrs. Mildred Efford, and Ms. Delia Roundtree, all of Warner Robins, Mrs. Rosie Rice of Henderson, GA; uncle, Leon Buckles of Unadilla, GA; cherished and beloved grandchildren, Delvin Buckles, Monikia Buckles, Christiana Buckles, Shyniqua Buckles, and Telvin Buckles; twenty-two great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson; four nieces, Sheneathia Davis, Shekisha Buckles, Chanteal Hall, and Shantell Buckles-Green; one nephew, Edward James Law, Jr.; devoted neighbors and friends, Peggy Green and Keith Green; two devoted godsons, Tony Stubbs and Gary Stiggers; and a host of other family, friends, and neighbors.
