Barbara, will always be "Little Red" to me and my family. She became family many years ago, and we will miss that sassy spirit. Nakia, baby hold on to GOD and let him comfort you at this time. RIP Red!!!

To the family of my devoted friend. A piece of our heart has a void. Our friendship goes back over 40 plus years. She was a true friend which is truly hard to find. Rest in peace my friend. Praying that God will continue to keep you and strengthen you as the days goes by. For the Lord is your Shepherd.

I met Barbara #1 several years ago at the senior center and we immediately connected. There was another barber and she told me I was always remember that she was Barbara number 1. I remember the last words we had together. I was lining up cars as a volunteer on Broadway Street and Barbara drove past, saw me, stopped and she rolled down her window and she said Harriette don't forget me you know I love those nuts. My last words to her were, girl I got you. You see I would periodically take her walnuts, pecans, almonds when they were in season. I immediately made a call to see if I could get my hands on some to take them to her and was told that I'd have to wait until the fall. I remember her now I will remember her then. Sincerely

Today my heart is with my friend and her family as they grieve the passing of her beloved Mother.

Even though years have passed, some people remain part of the sacred fabric of where we come from. When you grow up in church together, you don't just remember faces — you remember the mothers, the prayers, the love, the songs, the lessons, and the quiet strength that helped shape a community.

The death of a mother is a pain that words can never fully hold. A mother's love is one of the first places we know safety, comfort, and belonging. To lose that presence is deeply painful, and my prayers are with her children, family, church family, and everyone who was blessed by her life.

May God cover this family and Kia with peace that passes all understanding. May every memory bring comfort, every tear be met with love, and may her legacy of faith, strength, and grace continue to live on through all who knew and loved her.

Rest well, Ms. Barbara, Your labor, your love, and your light will not be forgotten.
