Michelle, Derrick... I am so sorry for your loss. I will miss Bertha too. She and I had a long relation friendship (Duke, Church, CCBNC,Inc. etc.). We chatted on May 31st. "catching up and reminiscing". She unselfishly loved her family, ("grandchildren of course"), friends, and her profession. Bertha was an incredible person. My heart goes out to you and the family. Dear Michelle and Dereck - I met your mother when you were both young. She was the first person that I professionally, emotionally and respectfully connected with when I arrived at Duke. She was an outstanding manager and I had the honor to promote her to her director position...she was the BEST Leader. She was so proud of you both and a dear friend forever. Please rest in knowing that she earned her wrings and is still watching over you. Thanks Martha
I feel blessed to have known this amazing woman. She had the most beautiful smile and sweet personality. I really appreciate the kindness she always has shown to our family. I know she will be missed physically but just know that she is a guardian angle and you can always feel her spirit. We love you dearly family. Ayesha and Malvin Richardson

Michelle and Derek, your mom touched so many lives in the very best of ways. Everyone I know only had very positive things to say about her. I am grateful that I got the chance to know her as a nursing classmate at WSSU, a colleague and most importantly a friend. I will truly miss her.
This is a most difficult time for you but know that the time will come when you embrace and smile at the memories. I know that both of you and the grands were her "heart". Helen Horton
To the Williams Family; It is with deep saddest to hear of the loss of our dear classmate Bertha; she was a member of the WSSU Class of 1973; we became friends over 50 years ago and remain so for the duration. She was a wonderful and caring classmate; May Bertha rest in peace and light perpetual shine upon her; until that great day when we all shall meet again; we stand on the promises of God. Amen.
