Cheri Tisha Krcelic, aged 53, passed away on December 15, 2024, in Durham, North Carolina. Born on August 23, 1971, Cheri was known for her sharp wit, compassionate nature, and an unwavering belief that everything happens for a reason.
Cheri attended Sangaree Elementary in Summerville, S.C., and completed her education at Stratford and Pinecrest High Schools. Her professional life was marked by her role as a Senior Quality Evaluator at Concentrix, where she was respected for her dedication and expertise.
Outside of work, Cheri was a lifelong animal lover, an enthusiastic concert-goer, and an avid traveler, always ready to explore new places. Her joyous spirit and ability to see the good in every situation touched everyone she met.
Cheri is survived by her husband, Abraham Hensley; her parents, Steven Krcelic Jr. and Clara Krcelic; her sister, Crystal Ballard; Her Brothers-in-Law Chris Ballard and Samuel Hensley; and her niece Kaylan Krcelic and her nephews Tyler, Nicholas, and Nathan Ballard. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Steven and Evelyn Krcelic, and her maternal grandparents, Charles and Alice Thompson.
A private ceremony will be held for family to spread her ashes in the ocean, honoring her love for water. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the DUKE Cancer Institute, supporting a cause close to her heart. Cheri's legacy of kindness and her capacity to bring joy will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew her.
Abe Hensley I am thinking about you constantly. I can't imagine your pain. However, Cheri would not want you hurting. I am praying for you around the clock. I don't sleep much at times like these. Rest easy brother knowing that she has a brand new body with Jesus. Now she will only feel happiness until you meet again. If we can do anything for you, anytime, night or day, please reach out. You are loved! You demonstrated your love, compassion and commitment while Cheri suffered. You are a Great man! Merry Christmas and here's to a wonderful New Year.
