Durham NC - We celebrate the life of Donna Ritchie, a beloved mother, sister, aunt, cousin, talented hairdresser, neighbor, and treasured friend.
Described by her friends as “The best friend anyone could have”, Donna’s faith was the anchor of her life, growing deeper as she got older. Even in times of illness, Donna trusted God and faced every day with faith, not complaining but instead always offering a listening ear to those she loved. One friend shared, “Donna brought me back to the Lord”.
Donna had a special gift for seeing beauty in the world around her whether in nature, clothing, fabrics and people, or in the beauty of South Florida where she called home for a part of her life (she cherished her time living in South Florida). Donna was widely recognized as a top hairdresser in a prestigious and exclusive area, Boca Raton. Her extraordinary talent, personality and approach made her the trusted choice for men and women who sought only the best for their hair. One client described Donna by saying “She would always listen, understand, and somehow make me feel like my best self every time”. For all who were fortunate enough to know her, Donna leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and fun (Donna could be wonderfully dramatic when needed).
Her memory will be forever cherished, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of family, friends, and all those whose lives she brightened. She passed in her home from natural causes on June 1, 2025. Her love will live on and we will miss her forever until we see her in heaven.
Dara, Robbie, you all know how dear Donna was to me. She and I were close friends for over 60 years. She and I talked daily to keep check on each other. I will truly miss my dear friend but I know she is happy reunited with her heavenly family!
Dara, I'm so sorry I misspelled your name in my other post. Tried to correct it but the website didn't allow me to update. Please know that I typed your name wrong but the message is sincere. I loved Donna dearly and I will miss her. Praying for you all as you navigate the next steps.
I haven't known Donna for many years. We met after she moved back to Durham but we became friends quickly. Like everyone else, I was shocked to hear of her passing. My love and prayers to Kara, Larry, Robbie, Kyra, Michael, Walt and Karen.
So sorry for your loss. So blessed to know Donna. She loved her family and lady friends🙏❤
