Our deepest sympathy to all of Gary's family members. We knew Gary from his college swimming days and always enjoyed his swimming abilities and his unique ways of dealing with life. Doug & Nancy Springer
Coach Goodner played a big role in all our lives as coach of Carrollwood Village Swim Team where our boys swam when we first moved to Florida. His voice was unmistakable as he yelled "Good job! Good job!"urging them on in the pool, and life. Rest in peace, Coach. The Feldman family.
Thank you Goodner family for sharing Big Gary with all of us! He gave my family the gift of the swim world! He coached both my kids and left an everlasting impression on both of them. He was a self-less coach who gave many hours of blood, sweat, tears, and his famous whistle that I know we can all still hear if we close our eyes and imagine him on deck. We love you all and will miss Big Gary but his memory and lessons will live on in our family forever. Rest In Peace. ❤️
Very thankful to have known him and mostly for all the support he provided as a coach to my son, both in and out of the water. Life lessons generously shared that will always be remembered.
Coach Gary was a huge role model for me and so many others. Without him I wouldn't have met some of my best friends today. Thank you for being an inspiration for all of us
Coach Gary was a great coach and mentor. Without him, I wouldn't have met some of my best friends. We will miss you, thank you for being part of our lives.
Coach Gary was my very first club swimming coach. There was one day that he picked me up and threw me into the pool, and that was the day I fell in love with the sport of swimming. I'll never forget his iconic whistle and the time we had dinner during my last college swim meet. I'll miss you so much, Coach Gary. Thank you for everything.
I still remember the little "don't quit" card he gave me. I think of it during hard sets even today. Gary did so much for me both in and out of the water.
I enjoyed the 35 or so years that we met, and finally became family 34 years ago. We enjoyed many outings together, even thou I was late for 99% of them, and I know that it annoyed you. I will miss talking with you over the major holidays. You and I liked our Cuban cigars, on Sunday I smoked one in your honor. Brother, you are now in a better place, and not suffering from your medical conditions. Rest In Peace.
Our staff will continue to keep your family in our prayers. We thank you for allowing us to serve your family.
