Anyone that knew Gary knew how much he loved his family. Gary was a true family man. His wife and children were his life. Gary enjoyed being around family and friends, his grand children were the light in his eyes. Gary was a very mild and calm person. Anyone that needed help with repairs he was always more than happy to help.
Gary leaves to cherish his loving memory, his mother Esther Compton, his wife Myrna, his children, Ericka Pamplin (Rico), Tyrone Davis (Paulette), Brothers, Richard White, Robert White (Lisa), Isaac Compton (Kristina), Eight Grandchildren- Rico, Eric, Erin, Raymond, Jordyn, Jasmyn, Legend and Roman. One Great Grandchild- Autumn, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Gary was a Great Son, a Great Husband, a Great Brother, a Great Father, and a Great Pap Pap and βHeβ will never be forgotten.
My heart was heavy when I found out that Gary passed. He was a remarkable person and was like a brother to me and my siblings growing up in Pittsburgh. Our families were very close. Praying God's comfort and strength for the White family during this difficult time. Heaven has gained an angel!

I was very sorry to learn of Gary's passing. He was a great fellow, a fine gentleman and a great credit to the RDU Airport Authority during his years there. As an artist, it's clear he was very talented. The pencil portrait of me he did that was presented by him and the Maintenance Department was the most memorable of those I received upon retirement and continues to hang in a place of honor on my den wall. I won't forget him. John Brantley
I worked very close with Gary on 3rd shift. He was always happy and positive about any situation we ran into. He would always draw on lunch break and it amazed me every time he did. One piece was better then the next. It's sad we lost such a great human being. Condolences to his entire family. Gary will be missed. Jason H.

Gary was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. The most entertaining 30 minutes I ever had at RDU was watching and listening to Gary and another co-worker (Who Dat) from New Orleans discuss their teams. Who Dat was representing the Saints and Gary the Steelers. That type of camaraderie made working there that much more fun. Gary was a good man.
I worked with Gary for years. We were on different shifts. But when it snowed it was me and Gary. Running the Sand trucks. My favorite time of year. Cause I got to work with Gary. One time we put too much sand out. Gary looked up and smiled, " But did anybody slip off the road ". That was Gary he looked on the bright side of everything. Snow duty will never be the same without you. --- Paul
