Greg Sykes, of Carrboro, North Carolina by way of Brooklyn, New York, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at the age of 65.
He was a graduate of the Technical Career Institute in New York City, later furthering his education and obtaining the credentials to become a computer engineer working for decades at IBM.
He was a prolific dancer and music collector. He was a self-taught Disco Jockey with an impeccable sense of style and showmanship.
Greg loved animals and raised many through the years (dogs, cats, birds, turtles, and hamsters).
He is survived by his mother, Grace A. Sykes, his siblings, Liz Sykes and Michelle Jackson, nephew Richard Jackson, niece Ashley Jackson, grandnephew Bryson Jackson, brother in-law Lamont Jackson, and sister-in law, Diana Ramos-Sykes.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 14, 2024, 6:00 pm at American Cremation & Funeral Service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at 5:00 pm.
