Jean Helen Fisher, aged 62, of Durham, NC, passed away on August 27, 2024. Born in Jersey City, NJ, Jean was a profound soul known for her intelligence, empathy, and wit. She completed her early education at Rippowam High School in Stamford, CT and later attended Harvard University for two years.
Jean's career spanned various roles at Loreal, News Bank, and most recently, the Unity Center of Peace in Chapel Hill, NC, where she influenced many through her commitment to spirituality and community service. Her passions were diverse, including music, tennis, knitting, social justice, and environmental protection, reflecting her deep connection to nature and spirituality.
Jean is survived by her parents, Jane and Donald Fisher, Sr.; siblings Janet, Donald, David, Jill, and Jennifer; nephews and nieces Len, Kourtney, Kathryn, Samantha, EJ, Tyler, and Sidney; Aunt Georgiana; grand nephews and nieces Kameron, Kaiden, Kaleigha , Kalyce, and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her nephew, Christopher.
Jean's life was a testament to the power of quiet strength, and the impact of living authentically. Her legacy of kindness, optimism, and thoughtful contemplation will live on through those who knew her and were touched by her gentle spirit.
