Obituary For Jimmy Jones
Jimmy Isiah Jones was born to the late James and Lillian Jones. He transitioned from earth to glory on August 6, 2023.
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, August 15, 2023, 1:00 pm at American Cremation & Funeral Service. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service.
He attended schools in Chesterfield County, Richmond VA. He moved to Durham, NC when he was 12 years old, and remained here until his passing.
He Pastored Cedar Grove United Church of Christ for 33 years. Later he joined Henderson Grove Missionary Baptist Church and resided there for several years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James & Lillian Jones; his brother, Winston Jones, Sr., and sister, Carlillian Ryan.
He leaves to mourn, his wife Gladys Jones; three children, Deborah Jones, Sandra Jones, and Jimmy Jones; one sister-in-law, Janine Jones; 23 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
